A look into history





The history of OVKO production dates back to 1975 when the first fruit and vegetable processing factory was established in Nové Zámky. 

Previously, there were only two factories producing baby foods in Czechoslovakia, both of them in Czech countries. The original business plan was to produce fruit desserts only, mainly due to their great popularity with Slovak and Czech consumers. In 1989, production output allocated within Czechoslovak market reached 20 million pieces. The period after 1989 was characterised by the atmosphere of overall economic decrease, nevertheless, Novofruct factory managed to survive despite multiple changes in the company management. Recent owners of NOVORFUCT SK s.r.o. have adopted an innovative approach to baby food production. Apart from fruit desserts, production of vegetable and meat combinations and soups has been launched. OVKO products have found their supporters not only on the local market, but also on further oriental markets, as well as European market, which has been open for NOVOFRUCT since the entrance of the Slovak Republic in the European Union in 2004.

Blend of tradition and innovation in the production process, in combination with ecologic qualities of the input foodstuffs, creates a unique range of OVKO baby food, which are recommended by paediatricians and highly praised by mums.
