The story behind our baby food

1975
The tradition of OVKO baby food production dates back to 1975 when a cannery was built in Nové Zámky on green meadow. At the time, it was the largest cannery in Central Europe.
1980
The plant was registered under the name of NOVOFRUCT and became the sole producer of baby food in Slovakia. The OVKO brand is in great demand on the Slovak market, but it is also exported to various foreign markets.
1990
Baby food is produced continuously even amidst the turbulent period of changes in society and company owners.
2000
In this period, the production of baby food takes on a new dimension. Production is expanded to include vegetable and vegetable-meat meals, gaining new customers.
2009
In 2009, the OVKO brand comes up with a new line of organic products: fruit baby food and vegetable products of the highest quality.
2015
The ovko brand portfolio is expanded with baby food in pouches – practical packaging that makes consumption easier.
2021
After 15 years, the OVKO brand undergoes a complete redesign.
Certificates, awards, and memberships
1. IFS
NOVOFRUCT SK, s.r.o. is a holder of the IFS (International food standard) certificate. It is a food safety management system. The food safety management scheme guarantees a high international acceptance and dynamics of certification extension on a global scale.
2. SK 625 ES
NOVOFRUCT SK, s.r.o. has obtained the veterinary approval number SK 625 EC assigned by the State Veterinary and Food Administration of the Slovak Republic, which means that the company is an approved establishment to export products to the EU.
3. Association of Trade and Tourism of the Slovak Republic
In 2008 we became a member of the Association of Trade and Tourism of the Slovak Republic.
4. HACP
HACCP refers to the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points system. It is an essential tool for preventing food safety risks.
5. Naturalis
NATURALIS SK, organic agriculture – this refers to plant or animal products produced via organic farming. These are organic products that comply with all regulations of the Act on Organic Agriculture and the Decree of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Slovak Republic and are subject to regular inspection at every stage. The label is controlled by NATURALIS SK, which also issues the certificates.
6. SK-BIO-002
SK bioSK-BIO-002 – EU/non-EU agriculture refers to the place of agricultural production of the agricultural raw materials of which the product is composed.
